* An existing phone socket no longer work unless the wiring is changed at your own expense.


* The installation location is determined by safety, existing hardware, and property restrictions.




NBN will contact you when the network is available, and you'll receive monthly updates on how you can connect to the service.


1. It is always best to talk to your internet provider and do your early research.


2. You need to contact your preferred ISP to sign up and discuss contract changeover if required.

3. A new NBN router may be needed depending on the service, but you must keep your phone and connect it to the NBN connection box.

4. For FTTP connection, existing phone and internet services will eventually be disconnected.

5. VoIP phone services will not work in case of a power outage on the new network, not unless you have a battery backup.

6. Check with your supplier if the home security service needs to be upgraded.

7. You need to add your medical alarm to the NBN register.


8. If you're a pensioner, check if you qualify for a discount with your ISP.
